Silvia Cohn – Hunter College

Silvia has found a way…

Silvia Cohn is a student at Hunter College pursuing a BA in environmental studies and a certificate in public policy. She is interested in working in the non-profit world. When asked what conservation means to her and why it is important she stated, “Conservation means minimizing human impact on the natural environment. It is achieved not just by preservation but also by considering externalities in everything that we do in order to make society more sustainable. In the end, that is in everyone’s best interest. I try to take that into consideration in my daily actions regarding what I consume and throw away. For example, I compost my food scraps, but I would also like to help make larger scale change.”
